CHARITY REQUEST POLICY

Welcombe Hills Vineyard regularly receives charity requests for support and prizes, and we are approached with requests to support multiple charities and fundraising events every week. We genuinely appreciate you thinking of us and we appreciate the importance of your fundraising efforts.

In the 5 years we have been operating, we have been pleased to support many local schools and nurseries, family charities and village fetes as well as Macmillan, Myton Hospice, the Luca Foundation, Molly Ollys and James Hopkins Trust to name a few.

However much we would like to continue to fulfil each request we receive, as a small business we just do not have the resource to do so.

Therefore, we have created a charity policy to filter requests and help us choose which charities and events we are able to give time and donate products to.

  • Local charities will be prioritised over national or regional charities outside Stratford-upon-Avon.  All charities must provide evidence of their charitable status.

  • We sponsor any members of our team who carry out personal fundraising by making a cash donation equivalent to 5% of the total amount they have raised (to a maximum donation of £100).

  • We will review all requests from schools within a 5-mile radius of Snitterfield and provide support where we can.  Schools in other areas will be considered but please note local schools will be given priority.

  • Requests must be for a registered charity or UK based charitable/voluntary/not for profit group. We will not support overseas organisations or fundraising for overseas trips.

  • Cash donations/sponsorship will not be considered.

  • Unless otherwise agreed, our support will continue to be through either the free or discounted issue of product and where possible the marketing of your event.

  • Limited to one donation per calendar year for each organisation.

  • Bloggers must provide evidence of genuine followers and engagement across multiple platforms. The blog must be wine or food & drink biased. Consideration would be given to other bloggers if we feel it is appropriate.

If your request fulfils our criteria above, please send details via email to hello@welcombehills.co.uk. Sadly, we cannot make on the spot decisions via phone nor respond to requests via social media platforms.

We view all charity support as a partnership and ask in return for some promotion. We are happy to provide leaflets to hand out and images for your newsletters and social media. We also ask that you follow us on social media and in return we will share your posts where we are mentioned.

We hope you agree this is a fair way in which to make an impact within the community and support charities in a sustainable and measurable way. Should you wish to contact us on any of the above matters we will be very happy to hear from you.
