The Vineyard Diaries
Shottery Village Association visit Welcombe Hills
August 2008

At the last meeting of Shottery Village association, members enjoyed a memorable visit to Welcombe Hills Vineyard.
The weather was warm and sunny and members were able to see from a high vantage point right across the Avon valley.
The vineyard is situated in a spectacular position and visitors were able to see the different varieties of grape growing on the vines. They were also able to taste the wines, with many enjoying the lighter Pinot Noir (aged in French oak) and also the full-bodied King's Retreat, which commemorates the escape of King Charles II from the battle of Worcester down the lane where the vineyard is now situated. A beautifully-served French style buffet was then enjoyed by all.
